How does Invisalign® work?

Using a force that is gentle but constant, Invisalign® treatment guides your teeth into a new position. Moreover, with advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, patients understand the entire treatment plan from the initial position to the final desired outcome.

Invisalign® are custom-made for your teeth, realigning them slowly in controlled movements. Patients wear each aligner for about two weeks before it’s replaced by the next in the treatment cycle.

Bond Dental will develop a treatment plan based on the specific needs of each patient.

When do dentists recommend Invisalign®?

We recommend Invisalign® as a corrective option for our patients who have overcrowding, crooked smiles or gaps and need to realign only a few teeth, usually in the front of their mouth.

Will I have to compromise my dental routine with Invisalign®?

Invisalign® created a product with the least disruption to your dental routine in mind, but it is important you follow your oral hygiene regimen. Moreover, as the Invisalign® system is removable, you can continue to brush and floss your teeth with products that work for your dental health. Brushing your aligners with a non-abrasive toothpaste will keep them clean and fresh.

How long does the treatment take?

Your Invisalign® provider, Bond Dental will determine the total treatment time based on the severity of the misaligned teeth and your specific situation. Treatment time may be shorter than traditional braces and can take from 6 to 18 months. While undergoing treatment you should wear your aligners for up to 22 hours each day. You may remove them for eating, drinking coloured beverages and regular oral hygiene.

What can Invisalign® fix?

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth is a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth is when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An Open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of food like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth and yet some of your upper teeth are sitting inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

How often will I change my Invisalign® aligners?

How often will I have appointments with my Invisalign® Doctor?

Your Invisalign® Doctor will schedule regular appointments, usually about once every four to six weeks. The goal of these visits is to ensure your Invisalign® treatment is progressing as planned.

My Invisalign® Doctor mentioned “attachments”. What are they and why would I need them for my Invisalign® treatment?

Your Invisalign® treatment may require SmartForce attachments, small tooth-coloured shapes that are attached to your teeth.

These shapes serve as handles, giving the aligners something to gently push on in order to move your teeth with the right amount of force, and are what make complex tooth movements possible without braces. Invisalign® clear aligners fit smoothly and tightly around them, so they’re barely noticeable.

While not everyone who uses Invisalign® clear aligners will need SmartForce attachments, if you need them, your Invisalign® Doctor will attach them to your teeth at the start of or during your treatment and remove them when they are no longer needed.

Can anyone tell that I’m wearing the aligners?

Can I take my aligners off whenever I need to?

Yes, you can remove your Invisalign® aligners for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. You can take them off for special occasions, like a wedding, job interview, or for playing your favourite sport or instrument. Just remember to wear them 20 to 22 hours a day to get the best results.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat while in treatment?

None! Invisalign® clear aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions at all (hello popcorn!). With traditional wires and brackets, there’s a long list of foods you unfortunately can’t enjoy, as they can damage or get stuck in your braces.

Is Invisalign® treatment painful?

Invisalign® treatment moves your teeth by applying gentle, constant force, but some people do feel temporary discomfort for the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners. Typically, people describe it as feeling “pressure” and it’s normal — it’s a sign your Invisalign® clear aligners are working and transforming your smile.

Sometimes when I remove my aligners, my teeth feel loose. Is that common?

Yes. As your Invisalign® aligners gradually shift your teeth into their proper position, your gums are re-forming around each tooth as it moves. Be sure to talk to your Invisalign® doctor about any concerns.

Will Invisalign® treatment still work if I only wear my aligners while I sleep?

You need to wear your Invisalign® aligners 20 to 22 hours a day to get the results you want.

Will wearing Invisalign® clear aligners affect my speech?

It may take a couple of days for your tongue to get used to having your Invisalign® aligners in your mouth, and you may have a slight lisp. But this should disappear quickly.

Will smoking stain my aligners?

We discourage smoking while wearing Invisalign® aligners because it can stain them.

Can I chew gum while wearing aligners?

No, gum will stick to your Invisalign® aligners. We recommend removing your aligners for all meals and snacks, including gum.

Can the aligners slip off while I’m asleep?

It is very unlikely that your aligners would ever fall out, no matter what you are doing: sleeping, talking, laughing, etc. Invisalign® clear aligners are designed to fit snugly around your teeth, so this should not be a cause for concern.

I went on a trip and forgot to take my aligners with me. Will my aligners still fit?

The answer depends on how long you’ve gone without wearing your Invisalign® aligners. If it’s only been a short time, your aligners should still fit, but they might feel uncomfortable. If it’s been a long time, talk to your Invisalign doctor about your unique situation.

I’ve honestly moved around several dentists and can genuinely say the level of care and detail in Kevs work is efficient and unrivaled. Dentists I’d had prior weren’t even mentioning or picking up on some of the issues I had. And I can definitely say that because I had a lot of work done and my teeth have never been straighter or healthier than they have here. I started going to Bond dental at the end of October 2023. I decided to treat myself for my 30th birthday and i have been so insecure about my teeth since my early teens.I got invisiligners for 6 & half months then got my teeth whitened and then ceramic veneers to get rid of my biggest insecurity which is a brown spot on my front big tooth.Mind you, i am not rich. I make a decent salary as a working class professional and it was a huge sacrifice & investment for me to get all this done but it was all worth it.11 months later and my teeth looks amazing! GUYS!! I’ve been doing my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Ameen and he has been super efficient, kind and patient. I even met Dr. Kev twice briefly and he was friendly and welcoming. I also had an appointment with Dr. Claire once when Dr. Ameen was away and she was so skilful, experienced and capable. Even the dental nurse, Kruti is helpful and professional. They are always willing to listen and never rush my appointments. Everyone that works at Bond Dental is so friendly.I just finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Ameen after thirteen months and I am honestly so happy with the results, my teeth are straighter and healthier. I’ve recommended Bond Dental to all my family and friends. In fact, one of my friend has also done her Invisalign treatment with Dr. Kev after my recommendation as she has seen my progress throughout my Invisalign journey and she is so thrilled with her results. After years of anxiety and some pain during dental treatment I highly recommend Dr Claire and her team. Sensitive calm dentistry with a highly personalised approach to pain management. I had root canal treatment with Dr Claire which I actually was not worried about after the first appointment! No pain at all - the injections to numb were delivered carefully and with great precision. The best dentist I have ever experienced. Reception are lovely and professional. If you dread the dentist and difficult treatments do book Dr Claire and the Marylebone surgery is a pleasant calming space.

I had numerous bad experiences in the past at various dentists before trying Bond dental. I came to Bond dental with a complete phobia of dentists. I was absolutely sure I was going to have teeth taken out and only came because I had a swelling face and painful teeth.Dr Claire Culverwell has done a outstanding job - saved 2 teeth, no pain in any of my teeth and it has given me confidence in dentistry again.Claire as well as being very personable, is very able and explains exactly what and why she is doing what she is doing. And all the treatment is very reasonably priced. I have moved my whole family over to be treated by her. If we could give her a 10* we would. Frankly I wouldn't waste time looking elsewhere. Everyone I met was welcoming competent and made me feel at ease. Dr Kev is a highly capable dentist and a great mind (he knows what you want, before you even know!) absolute rockstar dentist. He has been excellent in helping me since start of the treatment and even reached out to check how I was doing while he was on holiday. Sign that he cares about his patients, in fact you can see and feel his excitement when works to solve your dentistry needs. I also met with Dr Ameen who is also a great dentist and pleasantly personable. At concierge, Maria and Ervisa are superstars. Highly organised and very lovely. It almost feel you are going into a nice house of your friends to meet them rather than going to the dentist. Excellent in facilitating the whole thing making it hassle free. Previously I tried few other dental practices in central London but this was a whole different experience. No doubt Bond is expanding rapidly with new clinics. You are in safe hands and in a good , competent and positive environment so don't waste time and just go for it!

This is the most professional dental clinic I have ever been to and I went to a few in London and even a high end one in Abu Dhabi. None of them came close to giving me the experience that Dr. Kev and his lovely team have given me. I had restorative work done to bring my teeth back to a healthy state which I genuinely thought was impossible but I guess Dr. Kev is a magician because he made it possible and then I started my invisalign course which has been going great. Dr. Kev and his great team have been providing me with guidance and assistance every step of the way even when I am working abroad which is often since I am an expat worker in the oil and gas industry. I was under the care of Dr Ameen Furat. I could not have asked for a better and more talented dentist. Before coming to this practice, I was very self conscious of the gaps in my teeth. Unfortunately I cannot show you pictures of white, perfectly aligned teeth as I had a double extraction. Keep in mind that I'm rather afraid of having dentistry work following a horrific experience with a different clinic. I saw Dr. Claire Culverwell who's intimidatingly knowledgeable, a great quality for someone you need to put so much trust in. More than that, when explaining what she was seeing on X-rays she impressed me with her attention to even the small details others had previously missed (I have an extra tooth at the front only 1 other dentist had noticed-after 6 years, she did so immediately). She provided a reassuringly calm narrative of everything she was about to do and amazingly, there was no discomfort at all. A great dentist, she is equally knowledgeable regarding the use of botox which I am considering trying to get relief from a painful involuntary muscle spasm induced by unrelated surgery. Don't let your fears hold you back from taking care of your teeth, ask to see Claire, I'm glad I did. Thank you ever so much.

Lovely staff - I have been with bond dental for the past 3 years and we got to know them well! Took off my 2 wisdom teeth out and root canal with them and all went smoothly and I also did the invisigline which took a year and bonding aswell. I couldn’t recommend bond dental highly enough. I was referred to Dr Kev by a colleague so went to him pretty happy with my smile with the exception of my upper left front tooth following some trauma to it several years ago, leaving the tooth discoloured and weak.Dr Kev recommended a solution within my budget which he implemented in a very timely fashion. I am super happy with the results as my smile has not only been cosmetically improved but the longevity of my broken tooth is now vastly improved following the treatment. The whitening treatment was really easy to follow and stick to.Dr Kev took the time to explain each step to make sure I was comfortable and understood what he was doing. He responded to emails after work hours which I really appreciated.The staff are all very friendly and professional ensuring my appointments could fit in with my busy work schedule. I cannot recommend Dr Kev and the team at Bond Dental enough. The best service I have ever experienced at a dentist. I used to be scared of going, but the team made each visit enjoyable & smooth so I looked forward to my appointments.I had previous silver fillings replaced for white/ neutral fillings and also had two crowns. A root canal was also required and the team made the experience so easy. Dr Kev is extremely passionate about giving his customers great service, ensuring they feel comfortable and also making sure they have a fabulous smile! Incredible clinic! I don't normally post reviews but I felt particularly obliged to do so here! I have always struggled to find the right dentist and dental practice. I am an American who was traveling in London when a dire toothache hit. Dr. Patel *squeezed* me in to check it out on the same evening my friend rang over for me. He was so kind and competent and was able to book me the very next day for a wisdom tooth extraction. His work was fast and with the help of some numbing agent, painless. Bond dentist is a very friendly and welcoming place. It makes you feel at ease as soon as you walk in, very professional with all the most up to date equipment, but doesn’t feel clinical like most dentists. I saw the hygienist last Thursday and she was so lovely and amazing and did a brilliant job without hurting. I was very impressed with the service. Then on Friday I had a surgical extraction and without exaggerating Dr Fazil had my tooth out in 2 minutes after the injection - he is a magician – no cutting of the gym or drilling just pulled it out. The bleeding stop almost immediately and job done with no fuss and no pain, – VERY, VERY impressed and can’t sing his praises enough on how good he is – BOND is the best dentist I have ever been to and will continue to go to. Also another plus it is open in the evening till 8pm unlike other dentist so it is great for after work treatment 

Coming back to this review to bump it and hit you with some real talk. I’ve been going to bond dental for about 2 years now and it’s been incredible. I have had fillings and invisalign, and then I go for normal check ups and hygienist. The quality and service is brilliant. Everyone in there from reception to the dentists are so lovely.Kev is my main dentist. His knowledge is the best around and the way he talks me through everything puts me at ease and builds our relationship of trust. Hearing Kev coach the other dentists makes me think, you just know they love what they do there and encourage the highest standards.You can put your absolute trust in these guys and know that you’re being taken care of, which is the most important thing.

Amazing receptionists, amazing surgeon ❤️ I was very scared and hesitant but the doctor walked me through the procedure while he was doing it which calmed me down. They got amazing costumer service, got me water and had a chat with me before my appointment so I can relax as they saw I was a bit on edge. I have been visiting this dentist for a long time and always had very good treatment. This time after a year unable to visit because of Covid shielding I needed quite a lot of complicated reconstruction work with Dr Patel. I had to make several visits, and as before, the treatment was all very professional and, best of all, with no pain. My teeth feel great now it is all done. As well as the very satisfactory actual dental treatment, I found the booking process, the receptionist and the nurse very kind and efficient. Thank you all.

I visited many different dentists across London before booking an appointment at Bond Dental. I initially booked an Invisiline consultation with Dr Kev after seeing an advert on Instagram. The staff have always been welcoming, friendly and above all Dr Kev is very knowledgeable regarding all things teeth.Although the prices may be higher than some other high street dentists, one thing to seriously remember is that you are paying for the very best treatment. Not many dentists will be there pretty much around the clock to answer questions/emails like these guys. I really got the impression that all staff generally care about each patient, and I am extremely happy with my results (can be seen on Instagram!). A big shout out to Sandy who always welcomed me with a smile on reception and would take time to chat while waiting for my appointment!Thanks to all at Bond Dental for making my dream smile possible! I knew I had to get some work done on my teeth, but was dreading it. I went for a consultation with Dr Kev and got a thorough plan on tackling all the issues. Then over the next 4 months we slowly fixed all of the cavities and fitted an onlay and crown.The 3D scan for the crown/onlay process is seamless and means that the new piece will fit perfectly to your tooth - no more repeat appointments for badly fitting crowns - it was really pleasant!Strongly recommend seeing Dr Kev if you are planning any kind of dental work :)

I saw Dr Bilal Fazil at Bond dental. I was anxious, shaking, and scared. I no idea what was going to happen as it was the first tooth I had being removed!Dr Fazil invited me into the surgery with a calm collected demeanour. No other dentist I been to can provide the exceptional service and care given by bond dental. I was largely impressed by their sophisticated management system, such as their on time delivery, electronic appointment reminders. This dentist also has new advanced hardware systems such as 3D imaging machines which allows for a more accurate imaging of my teeth and easy electronically storage for future reference. They imaged my teeth electronically and ordered me strong retainers which came in less than a week! Bond dental also has a wide range of services available all with the help of interest free finance. The staff is what makes or breaks a great dental clinic, and Dr Kev & Dr Charles have been nothing but skilful & friendly. Even the staff receptionist made sure to call me back offering me a more suitable appointment time, which to me meant a lot, as a lot of clinics forget to call back. Highly recommend this dentist, if you want genuine good care.

The opening hours are flexible which is great.Dr Kev is very professional, excellent dentist and customer focused. The appointment was painless, and I had never any complications since. I love how my teeth feel clean and stains free after appointment with Toyin. Everyone at Bond Dental from the dentists, to the nurses are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I received treatment from Dr Charlie Steere, an excellent dentist who thoroughly explains everything and is always happy to answer any questions you have. I normally dread visits to the dentists, however it is always a pleasure with Dr Charlie, who is very good at making the patient feel relaxed and at ease. I had 3 teeth done in one sitting and I am very happy with the results. I look forward to my next check up!

Dr Kev Patel and his team are absolutely fantastic and always willing to offer great advice. Would highly recommend this practice for all your dental and healthcare needs! They also offer Wrinkle Correction and Dermal fillers here so do much more than a normal dental practice and you really feel in safe hands. Would give them 6 stars if I could!

Dr Patel and his team combine a high level of professionalism with excellent patient care, creating a friendly and welcoming environment that caters to our individual needs. I (and various family members) have had procedures ranging from regular check ups, and cleaning to root canals and have all been impressed by the quality of work done and the attention to detail. Can't recommend Dr Patel and his team at Bond Dental highly enough. My two young children love going to see Dr Patel, who is great with kids, and he did a phenomenal job realigning my teeth and fixing decades worth of wear and tear. If you get a chance, don't hesitate to book a consultation!

I received treatment for myself and my daughter. Dr.Patel explained sigtuation of my teeth and informed me of possible solutions--including pros and cons. I feel confident that I made an informed choice how i want my treatment to be. Staffs were very welcoming and flexibly helped me to get treatment with a baby. Highly recommended!

Amazing service, I recently had my Wrinkle Correction done with Kev, I was very nervous but wanted to get rid of my face lines that were making me feel self conscious. Kev went through everything in such detail and put me at ease the before and after care service was excellent. And the finishing result I was extremely happy with. I’ve been coming here for a few years for some dental & hygiene work. Staff have always been professional and friendly. I would highly recommend the hygienist, who carries out a thorough clean. I have been visiting this dentist for a long time and always had very good treatment. This time with Dr Patel I had an emergency appointment with a broken tooth immediately before Christmas and travel. He saw me that very day and gave me a comfortable temporary treatment which saw me through the holiday period with no problem. Then I was treated as soon as the clinic reopened. It was all very professional and with no pain. The refurbishing of the whole place makes it bright and welcoming. As well as the very satisfactory actual dental treatment, I found the receptionist and nurse very kind and efficient.

I have been attending this clinic for a while now and I must say that the overall experience and service I have received has been excellent. I am amazed by number of 5 star ratings.1) the equipment smelled and the place was a mess. 2) they book you in for nhs and trick you to pay at the end after running up the bill and without sharing the cost up front . They charged me £80 and didn't bother to tell me that before.Perhaps they are good or perhaps it's fake reviews on here but I don't want any more service from practice who trick you into paying them.

I highly recommend Bond Dental, Dr Kev did a nice filling for my chipped front tooth, and I would recommend if anyone of my friends or acquaintance asked me any best dental in London.I am Asian and this was my very first time to have a dental treatment in overseas, so I was nervous. However, Dr Kev and the staff were very kind, friendly and super professional. Every single step of the procedure including a variety of options at different price range, I was informed all details, and I also could get all details that I was wondering so I asked.From booking for initial consultation to treatment, it has been proceeded efficiently, promptly and professionally.I am totally happy with the result of composite filling for the chipped tooth including its colour and shape. It couldn't be better than this I believe. I was so anxious since this is my front tooth since it could be important cosmetically, but I shouldn't have been worried. I've been coming to Bond Dental for about a year now, and I have always been very pleased with the service. I initially had a crown replaced because I had a temporary one fitted abroad, and Dr Kev Patel did a great job and so more recently I came again to replace another crown and again the result is great. Gradually my teeth are looking better. I also look forward to doing a teeth straightening treatment they do here, and teeth whitening. The practice is relatively new and they are friendly, professional and efficient so I would recommend it.

I have been attending this practice for about a year now and previously for a number of years saw the same dentist, Dr K Patel, at a different clinic. Basically I moved with him when he moved clinics ! I have always been impressed with his professional & efficient treatment, on going advice & he always makes sure I am fully involved in any decisions regarding my treatment. He has always carried out the various dental procedures, on me over the years, very skilfully and always painlessly. All of the staff including the hygienist have been fantastic and make you feel at ease. I would have no hesitation in recommending this practice from reception, nurses, hygenist & dentists. All of my family & friends that have attended this practice have also spoken highly about the service they received. Well done & thanks for removing the fear of the dentists chair !

I highly recommend Bond Dental. Dr Kev did a root canal and crown for myself. Every step of the way, I was asked how I was feeling and the sense that he was really listening to me. I have had various treatments at this practice; Kev is very skillful, attentive and calm. he explains your treatment plan in details and makes the whole experience relaxing and a lot less stressful. You feel you are in good hands. Very friendly staff and nurses, clean and organised place. Was able to book appointments with very short notice.
